Overview
Ideal four man squad set up (BF3)
1. Squad Leader (Assault Rifle with low powered scope, M320 Grenade Launcher with HE or SMOKE)
2. Grenadier/AT (Carbine with low powered scope, RPG/SMAW)
3. Automatic Rifleman (Light Machine Gun with low powered scope, C4/Claymores)
4. Rifleman (Assault Rifle with low powered scope, medkit)
4a. At the squad leaders discretion, the Rifleman may be replaced with a SDM (Squad Designated Marksman). A SDM should be equipped with either a standard Assault Rifle with a medium powered scope, or alternatively a Marksman Rifle with a medium powered scope.
General Formation Set-Up
1. Point (Front)
2. Right
3. Left
4. Six (Rear)
Note: The number four position, which is responsible for the rear-guard, is a position most suited to an experienced platoon member due to the high level of responsibility that this position entails. Squad leaders should keep this in mind when designating roles.
